The LG Optimus L5 2 is one of the most affordable smartphones, offering a good camera and a long battery life, but its design isn’t spectacular. The Galaxy S3 Mini isn’t very different from its bigger brother, the Galaxy S3, but it’s more advanced than its competitor – the Optimus L5 2. Displays and sizes
These medium-sized smartphones have displays of same size – 4 inches and they support the same resolution – 480x800pixels, but the Optimus L5 2 Dual’s screen is an IPS LCD, while the Galaxy S3 Mini has a Super AMOLED screen.
The Optimus L5 2 Dual eights exactly 100grams and its dimensions are 118.4×62.2×9.2mm dimensions and weighs 100 grams. The Galaxy S3 Mini is only 11.5grams heavier and it measures 121.6x63x9.9mm.
Hardware and OS
The Optimus L5 2 Dual is powered by a cortex A9 processor, clocked at 1GHz, and the chipset is Mediatek MT6575. The internal storage of 4GB can be expanded up to 32GB.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini has also a cortex A9 processor clocked at 1GHz, but it’s a dual core, while the chipset is NovaThor U8420. It has two variants of internal memories: 8 and 16GB, also expandable up to 32GB.
Both of the smartphones run on the Android Jelly Bean OS, but the Optimus L5 2 Dual has 512MB of RAM, while the Galaxy S3 Mini comes with 1GB of RAM.
Both of these devices have a 5MP camera with features such as LED flash and autofocus, but the Galaxy S3 Mini hosts a VGA secondary camera.
The Optimus L5 2 Dual’s battery has a capacity of 1700mAh, which allows you to talk around 10 hours, while the Galaxy S3 Mini’s battery has a lower capacity – 1500mAh, which lasts 7 hours if you talk on 3G.
The Optimus L5 2 Dual costs only 150 dollars on amazon.com. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini 8GB variant is 50 dollars more expensive.
