Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 vs Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition – Specs and Price Comparison

The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 almost identical to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), except that it’s larger and it has a few upgraded here and there. Both tablets have a back cover made of plastic which looks like faux leather. But it seems that Samsung knows how to make its tablets look professional. So, here it is a comparison between these devices, in case you’re undecided which one you should buy.

Displays and sizes

If you’re oscillating between a large tablet and a smaller tablet, then you should know that both of these devices support the same resolution on their Super clear LCD, only that the Note Pro 12.2 suggests that it has a 12.2inches display, while the Note 2014 Edition is equipped with a 10.2inches display. You’ll have to use both hands to hold them, since they’re very massive. For example, the Note Pro is measuring 295.6×203.9x8mm and it weights 750grams. The Note 10.1 is lighter, weighting over 200grams less, and its dimensions are 243.1×171.4×7.9mm. These tablets have another thing in common: the S Pen Stylus.

Hardware and OS

Samsung decided to equip both of the tablets with a 1.9GHz quad core cortex A15 & 1.3GHz quad core cortex A7 processor, but the Galaxy Note Pro comes with a more superior chipset – Exynos 5 Octa 5420 and has two variants of internal memories: 16 and 32GB, expandable up to 64GB.

The Galaxy Note Note 10.1 also has two variants of internal memories with the same capacity, expandable up to 64GB, but it’s equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset.

The devices run on the Android platform with 3GB with RAM, but they come loaded with different versions of OS: Galaxy Note Pro – KitKat version, while the Note 10.1 runs on the Jelly Bean version.

Cameras

The cameras on both tablets are identical. So, any tablet you’d choose, you’d take photos with the 8MP rear facing camera (LED flash and autofocus) or the 2MP front camera.

Batteries

Both of the devices come with non removable batteries, but which have different capacities: the Galaxy Note Pro’s battery is supposed to last longer because it has the capacity of 9500mAh, while the Galaxy Note 10.1’s battery has a lower capacity – 8220mAh.

Prices

650 dollars is the price of the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 64GB variant, which can be purchased from amazon.com. The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition 32GB variant is 580 dollars.
