Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs LG G Flex – Top Specs and Price Comparison

The LG G Flex is the first phablet that came with a curved screen. It’s very unusual because it’s out of the ordinary. But, don’t worry, it won’t be the last device with an unusual design. In terms of performance, the phablet is doing well. It has a powerful processor, a good camera, but the complaint is related to its battery – it’s irreplaceable. The Note 3, on the other hand, is almost flawless. And it costs more.

Displays and sizes

If size does matter for you, then buy the G Flex, which will impress you with its extremely large P-OLED screen of 6inches. It renders a resolution of 720x1280pixels, but the Note 3 supports a higher resolution – 1080x1920pixels on its 4.7 inches Super AMOLED screen.

The G Flex is a lot heavier, weighting 177grams, but you shouldn’t be surprised, because it’s bigger, measuring 160.5×81.6×8.7mm. The Galaxy Note 3 is 9grams lighter, and its dimensions are 151.2×79.2×8.3mm.

Hardware and OS

The G Flex is disadvantaged, because it comes only with a variant on internal memory – 32GB, which isn’t unexpandable. It’s powered by a quad core krait 400 processor (clocked at 2.26GHz) and has a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset.

The Galaxy Note 3 has the same quad core krait 400 processor, but it’s clocked at 2.3GHz. The chipset is Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. It has two variants of internal storage – 16 and 32GB – expandable up to 64GB, and another variant of 64GB.

Both of these phablets are Androids and run on the Jelly Bean version. The G Flex comes with 2GB of RAM and the Galaxy Note 3 has an extra RAM.

Cameras

Both devices are equipped with primary cameras of 13MP, which share similar features such as LED flash and autofocus. The G Flex has a 2.1MP secondary camera, while the Galaxy Note 3’s front camera is of 2MP, but you wouldn’t notice the “tiny” difference in resolution.

Batteries

You can talk almost 15 hours on the G Flex, which has a non-removable Li-Po battery with a capacity of 3500mAh. The Galaxy Note 3’s battery is replaceable, but it has a lower capacity – 3200mAh, which allows you to talk 21 hours, on 3G.

Prices

The LG G Flex 4G, LTE variant can be found on amazon.com at the price of 525 dollars. The Galaxy Note 3 N9005 16GB, 4G, LTE variant costs 595 dollars.
