Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo vs Nokia Lumia 1520 – Price and Specs Comparison

If you have big hands, you shouldn’t settle with a mid-sized phone. You can do so many things on a phablet! The Galaxy Note 3 Neo isn’t that big, like its Note 3 sibling, but this doesn’t stop you from loving this device. Of, course, it’s your right to buy whatever you want, but you might take into account our suggestions before making a purchase. And you couldn’t resist the temptation to buy the Nokia Lumia 1520 after you read something about this phablet. So which one would look better in your hand: a Galaxy Note 3 Neo or a Lumia 1520?

Displays and sizes

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo renders a decent resolution of 720x1280pixels on its 5.5 inches Super AMOLED screen. The Nokia Lumia 1520 has a bigger display – a 6 inches IPS LCD screen which obviously supports a higher resolution – 1080x1920pixels.

In terms of weights, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo feels like a “feather”, compared to the Lumia 1520, because it weights 162.5grams, while the other phone is weighting 209grams. As for the dimensions, Samsung’s phablet is measuring 148.4×77.4×8.6mm, while Nokia’s device is measuring 162.8×85.4×8.7mm.

Hardware and OS

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is a capable phone-tablet because it has a quad core cortex A7 clocked at 1.3GHz and a dual core cortex A15 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, while the chipset is Exynos 5260. The internal storage of 16GB, but like many other devices, it supports a MicroSD card slot, to expand it up to 64GB.

The Lumia 1520 is also powerful thanks to its quad core krait 400 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, while the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800. The internal memory is double, of 32GB, also expandable up to 64GB.

It is known that Samsung prefers the Android OS, and this phablet runs great on the Jelly Bean version with 2GB of RAM. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is running on the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 Black OS with 2GB of RAM.

Cameras

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo has a great primary camera – 8MP (LED flash and autofocus), but not as advanced as Nokia Lumia 1520’s rear camera of 20.7MP (Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization and autofocus), but the secondary camera on the first device is of 2MP, while Nokia’s phablet has a front camera of only 1.2MP.

Batteries

You can talk 18 hours, on 3G, or listen to music for 64hours on the Note 3 Neo, which has a battery with a capacity of 3100 mAh. The Nokia Lumia 1520’s battery is non-removable, but it has a higher capacity – 3400mAh, which allows you to talk over 25 hours, on 3G, or to listen to music for 124hours.

Prices

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo costs 384 dollars on amazon.com. The Nokia Lumia 1520 4G, LTE variant is over 100 dollars more expensive.
