Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo vs iPhone 5S vs Samsung Galaxy S4 – Specs and Price Comparison

We have here a comparison between Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S4 and Apple’s iPhone 5S for you to check out if you’re looking for a new feature-filled smartphone (or phablet, thinking of the Note 3 Neo).

Display and Design

The display we see featured on the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is a Super AMOLED that has 5.5 inches and that can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This device weighs 162.5, being the heaviest of these three devices. It is also the biggest one (dimensions: 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6 mm).

The display that Samsung equipped the Galaxy S4 is also a Super AMOLED but this one has 5 inches. The resolution is inferior to the Note 3 Neo: 640 x 1136 pixels. The smartphone weighs 130 g and has the following dimensions: 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm.

The display we see on the Apple smartphone is an IPS LCD LED-backlit one that has 4 inches. The resolution is superior to the Samsung devices: 1080 x 1920 pixels. This device is also the slimmest and lightest one. (weight: 112 g, dimensions: 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm).

Hardware and Operating System

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo has two options for processor: the Cortex A7 which is a quad core clocked at 1.3 GHz and the Cortex A15 which is a dual core clocket at 1.7 GHz. Along with the processors, we see featured the Exynos 5260 chipset. The phablet supports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB whilst using a microSD card). The operating system for this device is the Android Jelly Bean.

The Galaxy S4 has also two variants of processor: the Cortex A15 which is a quad core that works at 1.6 GHz and the Cortex A7 which is also a quad core that is clocked at 1.2 GHz. The chipset that comes along is the Octa 5410 Exynos 5 model. This device also has 2GB of RAM, but it presents itself with three options of internal memory: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB (if you use a microSD card you can expand your memory up to 64GB). The OS on this smartphone is also the Android Jelly Bean.

The processor that powers the iPhone 5S is a dual core cyclone that works at 1.3 GHz. The chipset included in the device is the Apple A7. The device supports 1GB of RAM and multiple internal storage variants: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB (this smartphone does not have a microSD slot so the memory is not expandable). The OS on this handset is iOS 7.

Camera

If you’re looking for a device that has great camera features, Galaxy S4 is probably the choice for you, since it shows off a 13MP rear camera (LED flash + autofocus) and a 2MP front camera.

Samsung’s phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, has an 8MP rear-facing camera (LED flash + autofocus) and, as well as the S4, a 2MP front-facing camera.

The iPhone 5S also has an 8MP rear camera (LED flash + autofocus), but the front camera has 1.2MP.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo sports a Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery unit.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery.

The iPhone 5S from Apple sports a Li-Po 1560 mAh battery unit.
