Still a fan of smartphones with large displays? We have two suggestions for you: the Galaxy Grand 2 and the Sony Xperia SP, two phones with speedy processors, advanced cameras and long lasting batteries. Their prices aren’t spicy, but they’re not cheap either. Either, don’t be stingy, because the investment is worth it!
Displays and sizes
Both smartphones render the same resolution, 720×1,280pixel, which is very convenient if we take into consideration the sizes of their screens – 5.25 inches (the Galaxy Grand 2’s TFT display), and 4.6 inches (the Xperia SP’s TFT display).
The Galaxy Grand 2 is “grand”, measuring 146.8×75.3×8.9mm and weighting 163grams. The Xperia SP is slightly smaller, measuring 130.6×67.1x10mm, and it weights 155grams.
Hardware and OS
The Galaxy Grand 2 is powered by a powerful quad-core Cortex A7 processor (clocked at 1.2GHz) and it has a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset. The internal storage has the capacity of 8GB, but it’s expandable up to 64GB.
The Xperia SP has also 8GB of internal storage, but it’s expandable only up to 32GB. As for the processor, the phone comes with a dual-core Krait clocked 1.7GHz, while the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8960T Snapdragon.
Both phones are Androids that run on the Jelly Bean version. The first device has 1.5GB of RAM, while the other has only 1GB of RAM.
Another thing these phones have in common: the 8MP primary cameras (LED flash and autofocus). As for the secondary cameras, the first one has the resolution of 1.9MP, while the other phone’s front camera is VGA.
You can talk 17hours, on 3G, on the Galaxy Grand 2, which has a battery with the capacity of 2,600mAh. The Xperia SP’s battery is non-removable and has a lower capacity – 2,370mAh, but it allows you to talk 19 hours, on 3G.
