Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 vs Galaxy Grand Neo vs Motorola Moto G – Top Specs and Price Comparison

In this article, Samsung is challenging Motorola and puts at stake the Galaxy Grand 2 and the Grand Neo, to compete with the Moto G. If you care about the size, then the Moto G won’t impress you much, but if you want a phone with a battery that lasts longer, this is the right phone for you. But let’s take a closer look at all three phones’ specifications.

Displays and sizes

The Galaxy Grand 2 is the biggest smartphone from this battle. Its display, a 5.25 inches TFT screen, can render a resolution of 720×1,280pixel. It is followed by the Galaxy Grand Neo, with its 5.01inches TFT screen that supports a lower resolution of 480x800pixels, and finally, the Motorola Moto G offers a resolution of 720×1,280pixels on its 4.5 inches IPS LCD screen.

But the Moto G supports a higher pixel density – 326ppi, being followed by the Grand 2 – 280ppi and the Grand Neo – 186ppi.

Both of the Grand 2 and Grand Neo have the same weight, 163grams, but they have different dimension. The first phone measures 146.8×75.3×8.9mm, while the other measures 143.7×77.1×9.6mm. The Moto G is 20grams lighter and its dimensions are 129.9×65.9×11.6mm.

Hardware and OS

The Galaxy Grand 2 is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A7 (clocked at 1.2GHz) processor + Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset.

The Grand Neo is powered by the same quad-core Cortex-A7 (clocked at 1.2GHz) processor, but the chipset is BCM23550.

The Moto G is copying the Samsung flagships, having the same processor, but the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400.

The Grand 2 has 8GB of internal memory – expandable up to 64GB, the Grand Neo comes in two variants of internal memories, 8 and 16GB – also expandable up to 64GB, while the Moto G offers two options of internal storage, 8 and 16GB – which aren’t expandable.

All the three smartphones are running on the Android Jelly Bean OS, but the Grand 2 comes with 1.5GB of RAM, while the Grand Neo and the Moto G come with 1GB of RAM, although the Samsung’s model has better RAM.

Cameras

The Galaxy Grand 2 has a better primary camera – 8MP (LED flash and autofocus) and a better secondary camera – 1.9MP. The Grand Neo and the Moto G have both a 5MP primary camera with the same features as the Grand 2, but the secondary camera on the Grand Neo is VGA, while the Moto G has a 1.3MP front camera.

Batteries

You can talk 17 hours, on 3G, on the Galaxy Grand 2, whose battery has a capacity of 2,600mAh. The Grand Neo’s battery has a capacity of 2,100mAh, allowing you to talk 11 hours, while on the Moto G you can talk 24 hours, although its battery is non-replaceable and has a capacity of 2,070mAh.

Prices

The Galaxy Grand 2 Duos costs 315 dollars on amazon.com. The price of the Galaxy Grand Neo 8GB variant is 247 dollars, and the Moto G 8GB variant is 179 dollars.
