Nokia Lumia 520 Vs Motorola Moto E – Price and Specs Comparison

Both the Nokia Lumia 520 and the Motorola Moto E offer high-end specifications at a reasonable price. The best place to start while comparing two smartphones is to have a look at their prices. The Lumia 520 is a cheap phone with prices beginning at around $215. It offers good value for money, but the Moto E can be bought at an amazingly low price of around $130. The Moto E runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat, whereas the Lumia 520 runs on the Windows Phone 8 platform.

Design

The Nokia Lumia 520 has a plastic touch, but it is a solid phone and not prone to scratches. It is also comfortable to hold with its rounded sides. The dimensions of the Lumia 520 are 64 x 9.9 x 119.99 mm and it comes with a 4 inch screen, weighing 124g. One facility in the phone is that you can remove the rear cover and exchange it for other covers in different colors, such as red, white, black and yellow. The phone comes with a rear camera of 5 MP. Of course, it is a little smaller than the other smartphones available in the market currently, but it is very comfortable and portable.

As for the Moto E, it is also very compact and can be operated with a single hand. It is 12.3 mm in thickness, a little thicker than the Lumia 520 and also heavier at 140g. It resembles the Moto G in appearance, being simple and symmetrical in appearance. It is available in white and black, but the shells can be changed in the rear, with nine available colors. You cannot remove the battery.

While comparing the two devices, the Lumia 520 is thinner and lighter and also more colorful.

The Lumia 520 has a 4 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480p and a ppi of 235, which is good enough for viewing photos and text. Images are vibrant, colorful and rich. Hardware/Performance

The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, a dual core processor combined with a RAM of 512 MB, clocking at 1 GHz, powers the Nokia Lumia 520. The Windows phone is not too demanding on the processor and there is no lag while using the phone. As for the Moto E, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, dual core processor, clocking at 1.2 GHz powers it, combined with a RAM of 1 GB. Adreno 302 handles the graphics with a 400 MHz, single core GPU. The performance is generally quite good, as features are kept simple using the stock Android OS without customization.

Both the phones are good in terms of hardware specifications and performance.

Storage

The Lumia 520 comes with an internal storage of 8 GB with an SD card for adding memory up to a maximum of 64 GB. As for the Moto E, it has only 4 GB of internal memory, but it is enough considering the low price of the phone. The user gets about 1.5GB of free space for games, media and for applications. Users can also access additional storage with a micro SD card up to a maximum of 32 GB.

Camera

The Lumia 520 has a rear camera of 5 MP, but it does not have LED flash or a front camera. Video recording can be done at a resolution of 720p at the rate of 30 fps. The Moto E also does not have a front camera and the rear camera is the same 5 MP one. It takes quite reasonable images in good lighting conditions. The Moto E camera also has an HDR mode and a panorama mode.
