Motorola Moto G vs Samsung Galaxy S3 – Top Specs and Price Comparison

Both Motorola’s Moto G and Samsung’s Galaxy S3 are great smartphones to have. But what do you do if you like them both and you don’t know what to choose? Well, here’s a comparison between the two devices to help you in your decision making.

Display and Design

The touch screen we see featured on the Motorola Moto G is an IPS LCD one which measures 4.5 inches. This display can render a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. As for size, Moto G has the following dimensions: 129.9 x 65.9 x 11.6 mm and weighs 143 g.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S3 sports a larger 4.8 inches Super AMOLED display which has the same resolution as the Motorola: 720 x 1280.

The dimensions for this device are naturally higher: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, and surprisingly, the weight is lower: 133 g.

Hardware and Operating System

There are multiple variants for internal storage: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB (this device allows expansion via microSD card up to 64GB). The Galaxy S3 runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich (upgradable to Android Jelly Bean).

Camera

If you are looking for a smartphone that has better features in the camera category, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a better fit for you. This handset shows off an 8MP rear camera (LED flash + autofocus) and a 1.9MP front camera.

The rear-facing camera on the Moto G has 5MP (LED flash + autofocus). The front-facing camera on this device has 1.3MP.

Battery

If you are looking for a long lasting battery life on your device, then Motorola G would be the better fit for you. Sporting a Li-Ion 2070 mAh battery unit, this device is estimated to last around 24 hours of talking time.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery that will last you around 11 hours and 40 minutes of talking time (3G).
