Both the iPhone 6 and the Nexus 6 are expected to be released this fall. Although we haven’t seen official images of the upcoming smartphones, many leaked pics and specs gave us ideas about how these flagship phones will look like.

The iPhone 6 will be released on September 19, while the Nexus 6 will come in October or November this year. Apple’s phone will be available in two variants of sizes: a 4.7inches display and a 5.5inches display.

The Nexus 6 was supposed to be announced at the Google I/O 2014 conference, but we haven’t heard anything about it. Instead, Google presented the Android L Lollipop (Android 5.0), which is the successor of the Android KitKat. As for the iPhone 6, according to a leaked video, it seems that the Apple logo will be removed from the cover, which means that the device will be changed via wireless and it will feature an IR blaster.

The Nexus 6 will come with a massive 5.5inches display, which will support an impressive resolution of 2,560×1,440pixels (2K display). At this point, the only competitor for the Nexus 6 is the LG G3. Other favorite devices which brought profits to the companies that made them are: the Galaxy S5 (5.1inches), Xperia Z2 (5.2inches) and HTC One M8 (5inches). The iPhone’s 4.7inches full HD display will render a resolution of 1,080×1,920pixels and will support a pixel density of 416ppi, while the Nexus 6 will support a higher pixel density – 534ppi.

The iPhone 6’s body will be made of anodised aluminum, which will give it a premium look. It will come with sapphire glass – which will cover the camera lenses & the fingerprint scanner. The Nexus 6 will have aluminum edges and thin bezel. Its predecessors had plastic exteriors.

Hardware and OS

The Nexus 6 will be powered by a 2.7Ghz quad core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) Krait 450 processor, while the iPhone 6 will come with a 2.6Ghz quad-core Apple A8 chipset. The Nexus 6 will run on Android 5.0 or Android 4.5 OS with 3GB of RAM, while the iPhone 6 will come loaded with Apple’s iOS 8 with 2GB of RAM.

The Nexus 6 will be available in two variants of internal memories: 16 and 32 GB, while the iPhone 6 will house 32 or 64 GB of internal storage (no microSD card support). According to some reports, it is speculated that the iPhone will support even 128GB of internal storage and the 16GB variant will be excluded.

Batteries and Cameras

The Nexus 6 is expected to come with a 3100mAh battery, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The iPhone 6 will have a battery with a capacity between 1,700mAh and 2,000mAh, and an 8MP iSight camera.

Other features

Both of the smartphones will support NFC and fingerprint scanners. The Nexus 6 will be water and dust resistant, since the device is IP67 certified, according to PC Advisor. We don’t know if the iPhone will come with these features, as well.
