Huawei Ascend G6 – Specs, Features and Price

Huawei’s Ascend G6 is the company’s flagship smartphone. The Chinese phone maker’s attempt to create a world-class smartphone has certainly paid off. The phone has many features that work in its favor. The company’s P6 was considered to be a great phone and the G6 comes as a more affordable option for those who want to purchase Huawei’s phones. Both the price and the connectivity of the phone make it a must have for those who appreciate a good phone at an affordable price.

Specs

The Ascend G6 is a great phone that offers you 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB RAM and a 4.5” HD display. The internal storage of the phone is pegged at 8GB. The phone has a microSD slot which allows you to expand the memory of your phone. The 2000mAh battery is quite sizable and gives you a lot of talk time. The phone comes with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, which can be upgraded to the Android 4.4 version. The phone doesn’t keep Android at the stock version only. In fact, it uses its own Emotion UI 2.0 over the operating system – something that not many users have enjoyed. Though the construction is solid and thick, it is an all plastic construction that keeps the weight of the phone low but also gives it a very cheap feel. The phone comes with an 88° wide angle camera and 22 mm Focal Length. Combined with a 4P lens, and a BlueGlass infrared filter, the picture quality is really good.

Features

Though the outer body does not have a premium feel to it, it fits snugly into your hand and provides great ergonomics. The phone also features an all-in-one widget which helps you combine some of your phone’s basic features such as contacts, gallery, weather and much more. For first time smartphone users, this is a great option, because the phone comes with a very simplistic user interface. However, if you have some experience with smartphones, the user interface would seem very childish and not all too great. All your apps will also be in the same place, so you can easily access them, not like the usual Android interface. The one great thing about the phone is that it is 4G ready. For the fans of selfies, the camera allows you a selfie preview window, so if you do not like a selfie that you clicked, you always have the option to delete it and click a new one. The phone also has a phone manager, which can be used to manage all your phone apps and processes and optimize its functioning.

Price

Though the official price of the phone has not been revealed yet, there has been some news that the phone would be priced under $200. For such a low price, the phone seems to be packed with a lot of goodies. Though the phone does not compare to some of the more premium models, it does have a lot of features to make it a great purchase and with such a small price tag, you really do not have anything to complain about.
