1. Do not waste your gems!
One of the biggest mistakes casual players make is to spend the free premium currency without thinking. Instead of doing that, try to save as many as you can, and use them at the proper time. Also try completing missions and clear “natural obstacles” to get more gems. Don’t spend gems even during the tutorial, because those are lost gems and you won’t get anything in exchange. Even when you have a lot of gems, think twice before spending them. Why risking and realizing that it wasn’t worth it?
2. Get some defense before you start raiding around
Sometimes, “offense is the best defense” and it works out, but in this game you will have to build defensive in order to succeed. Start with upgrading your town hall, then continue with your walls and, after that, go for defensive structures such as: mortar, archer tower, cannons.
3. Shield protection
Getting attacked isn’t very cool, but if your town gets 40% destroyed, your village will get a 12 hours shield. When that happens, don’t attack right away, because this will remove the shield. Instead, use this time to rebuild your town and army.
4. “Inspect” your targets
Do not attack every single player you find! Instead, try looking at a few things before you send your troops to raid the village. You should look first at the Town Hall level and if it’s far lower than yours this means that you will get a smaller amount of resources. You will see how many resources are available for you to “steal”. Keep in mind that you “win” only when you get more resources than you “invested” into the raid. It’s no use to win battles if you keep on losing troops and you get no profit from it.
5. Raiding with your clan
Raiding with your clan is the best thing when it comes to a multiplayer strategy game. These kinds of raids will bring you some nice rewards along with a lot of fun. You will need to coordinate well with your clan mates in order to succeed, but it most likely pay off at the end of the raid.
