The long awaited spin off of Rovio’s Angry Birds, the Angry Birds Stella seems to be on its way much sooner than later. While Stella is the main attraction of this new feature, she is not alone as the franchise has decided to accompany her with 5 other equally exciting birds. These partner birds have been named as Willow, Luca, Poppy, Dahlia and Gale.
What Makes This Innovation Special
A number of experts believe that the developers are trying to bring a new dimension to the game by giving a feminine touch to the protagonist. Stella’s pink colored body is a significant indication of the company’s thoughts behind this innovation. However, it remains to be seen if the users are as excited about the new invention in the game as the developers. The company is trying hard to re-invent the much famous video game by coming up with themes such as inspiration and a number of other issues pertaining to the real world. Apart from just the fun quotient, the new characters would stand for tangible values for the users to connect themselves with the characters.
The expected release date of this new version is sometime in September. This will be available for the iOS and the Android users. What makes this innovation extra interesting is the addition of new theme as well along with these chirpy birds. The birds would now take a journey to the Golden Island to make it free from the green Piggies. The developer’s excitement about the new feature can be deduced from the recent statement released by the company saying that “Each character is unique and powerful in their own way but together they cause even more mischief, take adventures to new heights and prove that true friends are there for each other through every battle.” To unlock Stella and dive into the new version of Angry Birds, the users would need to use the Telepods. These Telepods made their way into the market with the Angry Birds Star Wars Series. These are used to unlock the new characters in the game.
What’s Next
If you thought that this is the only piece of announcement that Rovio made regarding Angry Birds, you are absolutely wrong! The developers are also known to be working on as many as three cartoon series. These cartoon series would feature Stella, Bad Piggies and Angry Birds toons. The cartoon series in expected to be out in November. Also, Rovio, the developers of Angry Birds aim to take the Stella innovation way beyond the scope of video games. Apart from the video games, Rovio is planning to bring Stella into the market in the form of cartoons, books and toys.
Having said all of this, don’t be surprised if the company eventually comes up with some completely different features to stamp its users.
