Yesterday was a busy day for Adobe, the famous manufacturer of artistic creation applications announced a range of new features. In addition to updating the Creative Suite for desktop, the company launched iPhone mobile app Lightroom and announced several new hardware and software products for the iPad.

Creative Cloud desktop applications reached version 2014, bringing some interesting news. Photoshop CC now has the Focus Blur to create an artificial artistic bokeh, better support for touch control in Windows 8.1, improved support for stylus, new blur effects and improved graphics engine. Illustrator CC got hardware acceleration compatible with some models of NVIDIA graphics, Flash CC includes an animation editor and export HTML5, InDesign CC now includes ePUB export and support for high-density screens. With this update, Adobe has announced Creative Cloud Photography subscription, which provides access to Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC for a fee of €12.29 per month.

Things get more interesting when we look at the news on mobile platforms. Lightroom application launched the iPad this spring, received a compact version, but similar in terms of functionality for iPhones.

Going for truly new products, the most interesting novelty is Photoshop Mix for iPad. A free product that requires an Adobe account, but not a Creative Cloud subscription, iPad tablet app uses cloud processing and provides some interesting tools. Complementing the old Photoshop Touch, the application offers advanced routines of Content Aware Fill, advanced selections and modes of blending, full compatibility with PSD files and some processing filters.

Also available only on Apple iPad tablet, Sketch and Line are two new applications dedicated to fine art, for a more technical nature. The two new products are accompanied by two free software tools for drawing: a stylus and a digital ruler. Available by the name of Ink and Slide, the two hardware accessories from Adobe are using Bluetooth connectivity and offer a stylus with greater precision and sensitivity to touch, ie a digital ruler for drawing geometric shapes. The two hardware products will only be sold at a price package of $199.
