The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the third installment in The Witcher franchise and is set to conclude the story of Geral of Ravia, the protagonist of the series.
Known for the astonishing quality of visuals, the vast open world and a complex plot, the action RPG franchise is one of the best single player experiences of the decade. However, as the developers at CD Projekt RED haven’t given out much official information about the upcoming title, fans have begun spreading rumors all across the internet. Which of them do actually stand ground and what can the player expect from The Witcher 3?
More of the Same?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take every good quality from the previous game, implemented and reconstructed through an entirely new engine. The game will not disappoint its fans as the world will be as much as thirty times larger than the already vast one featured in previous games, and the complex storylines will let the players seemingly choose their own destiny. Described as “20% bigger than Skyrim,” the game is expected to take over 100 hours of completion time, half of which belong to the main story and the other half to the side quests. The new engine will make it possible for the developers to feature a more realistic AI, detailed and dynamic day and night system and environment and much more.
What we Learned at E3 2013?
Most of the official information about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes from the E3 2013 event, where the gameplay producer at CD Projekt RED told that the game will feature more than 80 different monsters. Each of them will be unique with their own AI system, special moves and different traits. Moreover, as the interview went on, Marek Ziemak stated that the abilities of some monsters will be affected by the day and night cycle, similar to how a werewolf would be most powerful during a full moon. This should enhance the gameplay and overall experience of the game. Some rumors that were later proven right, suggested that at an E3 2013, a closed presentation of the game was held at which a mission of the game was shown. However, except the story, not much regarding the said mission has been revealed.
The latest rumors, revolving around The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, are mainly focused around when we will learn more about the game. Even though at this point all of it is mere speculation, it is expected that more information about the game will be revealed at the E3 2014 event. This rumor spread promptly, as it became certain that CD Projekt RED will be attending the Microsoft press conference at the said event, thus becoming certain that the developers will be talking either about The Witcher 3 or their other project known as Cyberpunk 2077. According official statements, The Witcher 3 is expected to be released in February 2015 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
