In this article, we’ll present you two Android smartphones that were launched on the market last year, but because they’re so popular, those who are looking to buy a phone with an 8 MP camera can’t decide which device takes better quality photos. But you have to take into consideration that fact that these smartphones are very intelligent, being equipped with powerful processors and a lot of GB of internal memory.
Displays and designs
With a resolution of only 540×960 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has an elegant design, being equipped with 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen. On the other hand, the Nexus 5 has a higher resolution, 1080×1920 pixels and it has a 4.95 inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touch screen.
The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini are: 124.6×61.3×8.9 mm, weighting 107 grams, while the Nexus 5 weights 130 grams and has these dimensions:137.9×69.2×8.6 mm.
Hardware and operating systems
Although it has a less powerful processor (1.7 GHz dual core krait processor + Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 chipset), the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini works like a charm on the Android Jelly Bean o.s. thanks to its 1.5 GB of RAM. This smartphone has 8 GB of internal memory, but you can expand it by up to 64 GB.
At this chapter, the Nexus 5 stands better, having a 2.3 GHz quad core krait 400 processor + Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset, and two variants of internal memories: 16 GB and 32 GB. Unfortunately, there are no MicroSD card slots. This device runs on the Android KitKat o.s., having 2 GB of RAM.
Cameras
Both smartphones are equipped with an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash, but moreover, the Nexus 5 has the optical image stabilization feature. While the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has a 1.9 MP secondary camera, the Nexus 5 has a 1.3 secondary camera.
Batteries
You can talk up to 12 hours on 3G on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini because it has a Li-Ion 1900 mAh battery. You can talk 5 hours more on the Nexus 5 thanks to its non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery.
Prices
On amazon.com, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini costs around 300 dollars. The 16 GB variant of the Nexus 5 costs less than 400 dollars and the 32 GB variant costs around 450 dollars.
