The Nokia Lumia 800 was released in 2012 and it’s considered a classic phone because it doesn’t have many impressive features and some users complained about the low quality video recording. The Lumia 820 was released last year and although it has a limited battery life, the device comes with a nice design. We’ll compare both phones to see which one has more advantages.
Displays and designs
Both phones have a resolution of 480×800, but they have medium-sized AMOLED displays of 3.7 inch (the Nokia Lumia 800), respectively 4.3 inch (the Nokia Lumia 820).
Being smaller, the Nokia Lumia 800 is weighting 142 grams, because it comes with these dimensions: 116.5×61.2×12.1 mm. The Lumia 820 is weighting almost 20 grams more, but it’s understandable, since it’s measuring: 123.8×68.5×9.9 mm.
Hardware and operating systems
The Nokia Lumia 800 is powered by a 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor and it has a Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset. You’ll have to deal with its internal storage of 16 GB, because there isn’t a Micro SD slot to expand it.
On the other hand, the Lumia 820 comes with a 1.5 GHz dual core Krait processor + Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset, and although it has only 8 GB of internal memory, you can expand it by up to 64 GB.
Both phones run on the Microsoft Windows Phone OS, only that the Nokia Lumia 800 was designed to work on the 7.5 Mango version (upgradeable to the 7.8 version) with 512 MB of RAM, while the Lumia 820 is running on the WP 8 o.s. (upgradeable to the WP8 Amber) with 1 GB of RAM.
Both phones have 8 MP primary cameras (auto focus + dual LED flash) but only the Lumia 820 comes with a VGA secondary camera.
You can talk 9 hours and a half on 3G or you can listen to music for 55 hours on the Nokia Lumia 800 which has a non-removable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 1450 mAh. The Nokia Lumia 820’s Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery allows you to talk only 8 hours on 3G or to listen to music for 55 hours.
The Nokia Lumia 800 can be bought from amazon.com at the price of 145 dollars. The Lumia 820 costs 200 dollars.
