Used by both devices is Android platform and they come loaded with the Jelly Bean operating system with 2GB of RAM.
Both devices are similar at the main camera that has 5MP with autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. The only difference appears at their secondary camera that has 1.2MP on Nexus 7 and 1.3MP on Galaxy Note 8.
Both use non-removable batteries. Nexus 7 has a Li-lon 3950mAh kind and Galaxy Note 8 uses a Li-lon 4600mAh battery.
