Since Motorola became a division of Google in 2012, people have been anticipating the launch of a new high-end smartphone that will be able to compete against the likes of counterparts from Samsung and HTC.
These companies produced some of the best android phones available in the market today. However, being a division of Google, many expected the Motorola phones to offer a significant alternative to the current crop of smartphones. It has come through in the form of the Moto X and Moto G.
Different Features from the Same Company
The Moto X and the Moto G may have been launched a few months apart, but they provide a lot of differentiation to the buyer and this starts with the touchscreen display. The two devices use a very large touch screen display just like the ones found the Samsung and HTC. However, the technology used

by both phones is very different and this provides the user with a lot of options. The Moto X comes with the AMOLED technology for its screen, while the Moto G uses the IPS panel.
The former is widely used in the Samsung phones, while the latter is widely present in the HTC and Apple varieties.
The smartphones of today generally have a screen that is larger than 4.5 inches in size. However, this compromises the portability aspect of the phone. Moto G tries to reduce this hindrance by offering a 4.5-inch display, but the Moto X opts for the much larger 4.7-inch unit. As far as resolution goes, they both offer the 720p resolution. This may be seen as a disadvantage in comparison with the full HD displays of Trompette & robes de mariée Mermaid today, but Motorola are likely to compensate by offering these phones at a reduced sticker price.
The Moto G offers the third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the touchscreen.
In terms of processor speed and multitasking aspects, the Moto G slightly lags behind the Moto X and this is down to the processor specifications. The former uses a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, while the Moto X uses a 1.7 gigahertz unit of the same specifications. Both are extremely fast, but the Moto X also has an advantage in terms of much bigger RAM. It comes with 2 GB of RAM compared to the 1 GB present in the Moto G.
This is expected to make a telling difference in aspects like multitasking.
The Moto X offers a much superior camera, which is rated at 10-megapixels. This is a huge advantage compared to the 5-megapixel camera provided in the Moto G. In addition to the increased megapixel count, the Moto X also offers several features like full HD video recording and a significantly better front facing camera. The front facing camera can also record full HD 1080p videos. The pixel size is just 1.4 µm in the Moto X.
The unlocked version of the Moto X in the 16 GB variant is priced at around $ 340, while the Moto G will be significantly cheaper at $ 200.
