Minecraft Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita editions – Release Date – Full Details

One of the most waited games on the new generation consoles is finally coming this August on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and it will have larger worlds for these new consoles.

Mojang apologized for the delay on bringing this game so late but “putting Minecraft on new consoles is a serious business”. They also added that old players of Minecraft from Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 can upgrade their Minecraft game (license) to the new console version for a small fee.

If you had Minecraft on your Xbox 360, it will cost you $4.99 on Xbox Live Marketplace to upgrade Minecraft to your new Xbox One console. New players will have to pay $19.99 for the new Minecraft: Xbox One version.

As for PlayStation 4 version, it will be bought for $19.99 from the PlayStation Network. You can also upgrade from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 for only $4.99.

We don’t have a specific date, only that this will happen somewhere in August.

Mojang said that you will be able to transfer worlds from your Xbox 360 to Xbox One, but not vice versa. Same goes for PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4. Keep in mind that cross-platform play will not be possible between the new-generation consoles and their predecessors.

As for DLC skins and texture packs that you bought for your older version, some will be imported to the new consoles, but not all of them, added Mojang.

Are you going to buy the Minecraft game for the new generation consoles?
