HTC One vs Nexus 5 – Specs and Price Comparison

Both phones come with aluminum cases that protect the devices in case you’re dropping them on the floor. But many buyers don’t care much about this aspect; they’re more interested in how the phones work and how long the batteries last. Let’s compare HTC One and Nexus 5 to see which phone has more advantages.

Displays and designs

These phones are equipped with large displays. For example, the HTC One has a 4.7 inch Super LCD3 capacitive touch screen, having a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, while the Nexus 5 comes with a larger display, a 4.95 inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touch screen, and a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels.

In terms of dimensions, the HTC One has 137.4×68.2×9.3 mm and it weighs 143 grams, while the Nexus 5 is lighter, only 130, and has these dimensions: 137.9×69.2×8.6 mm.

Hardware and operating systems

The HTC One has two variants of internal memories: 32 GB and 64 GB, without the possibility of expanding them. The device has a 1.7 GHz quad core krait 300 processor + Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset.

The Nexus 5’s processor is more powerful, which is a 2.3 GHz quad core krait 400 processor, but the phone has also a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset. Like the HTC One, the Nexus 5 has two variants of internal memories which can’t be expanded, which are 16 GB and 32 GB.

As for the operating systems, both phones are Androids, only that the HTC One runs on the Jelly Bean o.s., while the Nexus 5 runs on the KitKat o.s. Both phones are equipped with 2 GB of RAM.

Cameras

The HTC One has a 4 MP primary camera (autofocus + optical image stabilization + LED flash) and a 2.1 MP secondary camera, while the Nexus 5 has an 8 MP primary camera (autofocus + optical image stabilization + LED flash) and a 1.3 MP secondary camera.

Batteries

You can use the HTC One to talk for 18 hours on 3 with your friends, because the non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery allows you to do this. On Nexus 5 you’ll talk one hour less, although the phone has the same model of battery.

Prices

On amazo.com, the HTC One 32 GB 4G LTE variant costs 465 dollars, the 64 GB 4G LTE variant costs 690 dollars. On the other hand, the Nexus 5 16 GB variant can be purchased at the price of 395 dollars, while the 32 GB variant costs 445 dollars.
