The HTC One M8 was released in March and now we’re preparing to welcome a new generation of “One” that comes with a smaller size. Will the new phone exceed your expectations? Let’s take a look at its specifications.
How it looks?
Well, HTC One Mini 2 looks kind of similar to its predecessor, but it’s smaller, weighting 137 grams and measuring 137.43×65.04×10.6mm, while the HTC One M8 is has these dimensions 146.36×70.6×9.35mm and it’s weighting 23 grams more. Both phones have aluminum back, and plenty color options to satisfy your tastes.
The phone comes with a 13 MP rear facing camera (combined from the 4 MP rear facing camera and the 5 MP front facing camera of One M8), to provide better output, while the M8 shoots faster images. With both smartphones’ cameras you can record in HD.
The HTC One Mini 2 comes with a 4.5 inches / 720p display, while the M8 has a display of 5 inches / 1080p. Even if it’s smaller, the HTC One Mini 2’s display allows you to see clearly any kind of text.
Both smartphones are Androids running on the 4.4.2 version with Sense 6, but the One Mini 2 comes with a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and only 1 GB of RAM, while the M8 has 2 GB of RAM and a more powerful processor, a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. While the “bigger brother” can compete with smartphones such as iPhone 5s or Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, the Mini 2 can compete with Motorola Moto G.
The internal memory
Both phones have at least 16 GB of internal memory, expandable by up to 128 GB.
Network and Connectivity
If you want a better Wi-Fi connectivity, choose the M8, because it stretches to 802.11ac standard. Both smartphones come with GPS, Bluetooth connectivity and 2G/3G/4G LTE networks.
