Why Microsoft Should Push Halo 5 Release Date Closer?

The reasons are many because the franchise is one of the best exclusives on the Microsoft console ever since its first iteration and it was the game that pushed Xbox consoles in the market.

Sony recently announced that they have sold over 7 million PS4 consoles and it is high time for Microsoft to compete with them. In order to sell a new gaming console, it should have some must have titles and most probably games that are not available on anything else. The addictive nature of the game, its game play elements, graphics and popularity will determine the platform’s success. When you go by this strategy, Halo 5 definitely meets every requirement and can come out with flying colors.

Exclusives Required

The company heavily relied on Titanfall and the game developed by Respawn Entertainment definitely lived up to the hype. It continues to be in the top of the charts for consecutive weeks and did push sales of the consoles but definitely if there is something that can help the company achieve heights, it will be the Halo franchise. Keeping these things mind, the company in association with Bungie studios has indirectly confirmed that the Xbox One console will be getting a Halo 2 anniversary edition first. Instead of a new game that fans have been asking for, they are planning to rehash an old title that will most probably have some exciting multi-player options to look forward. The news was confirmed by Phil Spencer from the company who said that it exists in an imaginary world for now.

The publishers simply want to keep things under wraps because it will make for a great E3 2014 debut when they finally announce the anniversary edition. But, having shown the teaser for Halo 5 almost a year ago at the E3 2013 conference, it is high time they make some announcement related to the game. Speculations also claim that the upcoming Halo 2 edition of the game will come with multiplayer beta keys for the new title. Based on all the information that has been released so far, a fall release date has been pegged for the title but Microsoft or Bungie hasn’t confirmed this news so far.

Fall 2014 Is the Best Time

They are most probably waiting to make a slew of announcements during the conference that will be held at the world’s biggest gaming expo. In case, if Microsoft has been planning to push Halo 5 release date to early 2015, they are definitely on the wrong track. Bringing the game to the audience when they want it the most is mandatory for sales to boost their console. Besides, it is the early months of the Xbox One console and if they couldn’t make it a viable platform right now, they may not be able to do so after most of them choose to buy PS4 console from Sony. Even exclusives may not be so powerful next year that is why it is mandatory for the publisher to make sure they make hay while the sun shines. Keep your fingers crossed for Fall date.
