Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 2014 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 2014 – Price and Specs Comparison

After compact smartphones, the next round of battle between the gadget giants is in the tablets war zone.

With maxi tablets like the giant 12.2-inch Samsung Galaxy Note Pro hitting the market, is it time to say good-bye to your laptops? This remains to be seen. Meanwhile, let us understand the comparative features of the latest professional tablets from Samsung’s stables – Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 2014 and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 2014. This may help you decide which one is more suited for your business needs.

Screen Matters and Camera

The 8.4-inch screen size of Tab Pro offers more portability than the 12.2 screen size of Note Pro. The sharp pictures on the Tab Pro run with a higher pixel density of 359ppi as compared to the 242ppi offered by Note Pro. The sharp display in both the tablet offerings is supported by GPU Adreno 330. Camera specs in both tablets are similar. The front camera of 2MP in the tablets is decent for video conferencing. The 8MP rear camera of Tab Pro as well as Note Pro with LED Flash works well for clicking the pictures.

Productivity Tools for Business Users

The S Pen Stylus makes the Pro Note handy for taking business notes. With the large size of the 12.2-inch Note Pro, it is easier to use the Stylus freely on its giant screen. You can use several applications like naturalistic handwriting and navigation through pinpoint. You can also use the sketchbook apps to kill the waiting time between meetings or take a break during work. The handwriting recognition program in the phone can be used to scribble down an address in the Action memo to find the location in Google Maps. You can also use the Stylus to tune images or designs on Note Pro.

Performance

Tab Pro powers up with Qualcomm’s latest quad-core processor called Snapdragon 800 that clocks a speed of 2.3 GHz. The tablet runs on a 2 GB RAM. Its 4,800mAh battery has disappointing performance of only 10 hours of talk time. The battery cannot be removed from the device. Pro Note on the other hands runs on a 1.9GHz quad-core processor and Exynos CPU, with a higher 3GB RAM. Note Pro runs on the latest Kit Kat version of the Android OS. To support its large screen that eats up battery fast, Note Pro runs on a 9500mAh unit battery that offers a whooping 51 hours of power on 3G network.

Note Pro 12.2 offers some great features like a large-sized bright screen with a user friendly User Interface and unbeatable performance in its category. A few areas where it could have done better are its build material quality and pricing. Tab Pro 8.4 on the other hand, scores high with its awesome screen, but its battery life is disappointing for business users on the go. It is unquestionable that professionals on the move would prefer to carry their work related gadgets for productivity tools, taking notes, creating content as well as other work tasks. So, will these mobile devices take over the PCs and notebooks? Only time will tell.
