Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – Specs and Price Comparison

Samsung Galaxy’s Note 3 is ranked among the best smartphones that you can buy, with high-end technology.

It was released in September 2013 and is the latest release. The Note 4, on the other hand, has not yet been released, but slated for release in September 2014. Samsung has remained quiet regarding the specifications of the coming Note 4, but there are certain rumors regarding the features and additions in the new device.

Design of Note 3

The width and height of the Note 3 are similar to the Note 2, with the new version being a little taller and thinner. The Note 3 is also lighter by 14 grams and, therefore, more portable. The Note 3 offers a better grip with a textured surface. The screen of the Note 3 has a pixilation of 1080 x 1920 in a 5.7 inches display with a high ppi of 386, so graphics and text are very clearly represented in high details. It is easier to use the Note 3 outdoors, as it has a bright display and better viewing angles.

The Note 4 is expected to be coming with a bigger screen and some more features that are not present on the above Note 3 model.

Digital Stylus Note 3

The S Pen is included in the device and it enables making drawings or taking down notes or navigating easily through interfaces. The Note 3 has the latest model of the Wacom digitizer. In addition to all the usual uses of the S Pen, there are some extras in the Note 3. You can access the S Pen as soon as you pull it out through the new menu called Air Command. You can use Action Memo for converting your note or a part of it into a contact on your address book or something to be put in your To Do list. Other extra featuresare the Scrap Booker and the Screen Write, the S Finder and the Pen Window.

Interface – Special Additions on Note 3

The Note 3 comes with 4.3 Jelly Bean, with TouchWiz replacing the stock Android user interface, offering greater functionality and features. The variants on the Note 3 are new and rich with additional features. It offers good support for multi window mode and multitasking and enables running of two windows for a single app. In addition, Flipboard comes with a new layout for My Magazine in the Note 3 and can be triggered from the home screen itself. Additional features found in the Note 3 are the S Health, the S Translator and additional security in the form of KNOX for a private workspace on the device. It is projected that the Note 4 will be run on the Kitkat Android Operating system.

Camera

The Note 3 has both front and rear cameras, with a 2 MP camera in the front and a 13 MP camera with LED flash in the rear. As for the Note 4, it is said that it will have a 20 MP camera at the rear along with many other enhancement features for photography.

Processing Power

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 runs on the quad core Snapdragon 800 SoC and is one of the top smartphones of Android, offering a smooth and responsive experience for all tasks. The Note 3 is well able to handle multi tasking, as it has a RAM of 3 GB for storing plenty of application data. It comes in 3 variations of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. As for the Note 4, it has been rumored that Samsung is planning to develop the microprocessors in such a way as to fit in with the 64-bit design. The new Note 4 is also expected to come up with a bigger RAM of 4 GB or maybe even higher.

Price

Seeing that the Note 4 is being projected to have more dynamics and performance algorithms, it will naturally be priced higher. Though no prices have been mentioned, but it is sure to cost much more than the $900, which is the price of the present Note 3 and Gear.
