Gmail – Top Reasons Why Everybody Downloads this App for Free

Have you ever gotten to a point where, when you are asking for someone’s email address, you automatically expect to be given a Gmail address?

If you have, that makes many of us. There are just so many people using Gmail nowadays that it has become almost the staple emailing platform for everybody around the world. From the academe to the corporate world to just about anywhere that an email address could be of use, Gmail has got the world practically covered. If you are one of those Gmail lovers just like me, you probably have your own reasons why you would rather shave your head (okay, so that’s too much, but you get the point) than change your email platform. If we’re in any good situation, I’d even be able to share with you some things that you might not have noticed about Gmail just yet. So here it goes.

You Use Google for Just About Everything

We have the wonderful people behind Google to thank for creating such useful programs and applications like, well, Google, and all its relatives. Gmail is just one of the branches of Google, and if you are fond of using Google products such as Chrome, Drive, and many others, it’s most advantageous to have a Gmail account. Why? Because it’s what you use to sync your accounts and manage all your other Google-related accounts. Basically, if you have a Gmail account, you can access all your other Google-related accounts and sync all your important information across devices, even when you uninstall them on your current device.

Using Gmail is first and foremost very practical if you want to keep sane in managing your accounts. In a largely Internet-related world, a normal person would have to maintain at least five different accounts for different purposes. And keeping track of all those can be quite a chore. But if you have Gmail, you simply hit “Sync”, and you have everything on your device. Plain and simple!

It Has an Embedded Instant Messaging Service

Is there anyone who has never needed to just forget about composing an email message and writing the message down straightaway? The chatting service that is embedded, and very neatly so, in Gmail is very helpful for situations like this. Of course we do love composing email messages, sure. But there are certain moments that call for an instant response, and Gmail also makes provision for that.

And there’s more. Gmail has released a new update to the chatting service that used to be called Google Talk. It’s now called Google Hangouts, a more fully featured and sleeker version of the instant messaging slash video calling service provided for Gmail users. It has been upgraded so that users can enjoy more features, such as video conferencing with up to ten people in one video conference, more varied emoticons and animated stickers for more expressive chat messages, cross-device syncing of message history on Hangouts, and many more.

If you have been using Gmail for a while now and you have not tried Hangouts yet, you better do so. All you have to do is hit “Update to Hangouts” and you will be brought to the new Hangouts. Speaking from experience, after updating to Hangouts, you will not want to use the old Google Talk service again. Hangouts is just way, way better.
It’s Easy to Use and Easy on the Eyes Too

If you have an inbox that’s already cluttered with so many messages that you’re dreading having to sort them all, it would not help to be using an email platform that’s too cluttered as well. Gmail is neat, sleek, simple, and easy to navigate. It’s light on the eyes and simple to use. Just what everybody is looking for.
